Latest Updates On Visa 2019: Introducing New Skilled Regional Provisional and Permanent Visa

The Australian Department of Home Affairs has announced that the 187 skilled regional visas will be updated from November 16th, 2019 and two new visas will be introduced.
- Skilled Employer-Sponsored Regional Visa (subclass 494)
- Skilled Work Regional Visa (subclass 491)
These visas are introduced to fill up the job vacancies in the regional areas of Australia while triggering growth of smaller regions and cities.
There has been made a certain changes to this regional Visa’s replacing the old one i.e. expansion in the years to live and work in Australia has been increased from two to three years whereas visa validity period has also increased to five years. However, applications must meet the criteria relating to English Language, Skills, health and character. Regional Australia will be expanded all over Australia except some major cities:
SYDNEY

Gold Coast

Brisbane

Perth

Melbourne

The Skilled Employer-Sponsored Regional Visa replaces the subclass 187 and includes three stages: Sponsorship, nomination and visa application. This visa is for people being sponsored by an employer in regional Australia. For this visa, 9000 places will be allocated per year.
The Skilled Work Regional Visas is for people who is being nominated by a state, territory or government agency or sponsored by a family member who resides in Regional Australian areas. For this visa, 14000 places will be allocated per year.
Introduction of the new visa and replacement will not impact the holders of existing visa and the holders of these visa can apply for permanent residency after meeting the criteria required.
